Nevada Unemployment Applications

Last August 2009, Nevada's unemployment rate reach an all time high: 13%. This percentage alone is a blow to the economy of the state. Because of this, the local government has made sure to look out for the needs of those who were laid of from work because of companies downsizing due to financial difficulties or shutting down because of debts. With this, Nevada unemployment applications are available for the jobless, so they can survive the current economic crisis.

To make sure that the system is not abused by the people, the Nevada Department of Employment has declared certain qualifications for interested applicants. 1. A person must have been earning a certain amount of money depending on the base period set by the government. 2. It is very essential that this person should have been laid off from work without fault. If he or she has their hours reduced, their case may still be considered for unemployment insurance. 3. With the previous one in mind, that person must be jobless or underemployed. Being fired due to bad behavior, sickness or disability will render a person ineligible. 4. A person must be phyisically and mentally able to work. 5. A person should be continuously looking for work. He or she must be willing to attend interviews and accept job offers.

In order to make sure that you are qualified to gain unemployment insurance in Nevada, you have to present certain documents in order to validate your job loss. Although you will have to fill up some forms or even answer to an interview, you will have to give the agency you're facing valid proof of your unemployment. Among these requirements are:

1. Social Security Number or Alien Registration Number, for US citizenship or legal immigration status proof, respectfully 2.
